My 5th Grade Year

Today is the 3rd to last day of school so I just want to do a blog post about a lot of the things that we did for the last year. One of the things that we did was 2 passion projects and I did both of mine on VR and Football. We also did the decades at the end of the year. We had some of the best teachers I have ever met and those teachers are Mrs.Ummel, Mrs. Brantley, Mrs. Lobue, Mrs.Mcfall , and Mr.Mac. Some of my best friends were Reyson, Adam, Connor, Carter, Chris, Keller, Trent, Caleb, Hunter, Chasten, Will, and Ashton. The one thing that I will remember about 5th grade is Mac jumping on the tables and hitting the tables with a yard stick. I hope that everybody had and will have as great of an experience as i did.

The Time I Helped Volunteer

Three weeks ago, my family and I went to help volunteer at a place in Longview called Jesus Burger. We asked the people who run it what we could help with like pick up trash, cook, lay out clothes, or set up chairs. We ended up laying out clothes, but they were short handed so we went to help cook. We went to help cut up onions and peppers. My dad and the main person had to teach us how to do it but we got the hang of it pretty quick. We also scooped up pickles. After that we all went to a table and started to make the hot dogs and put them in the trays. After we did that we handed them out to about 100 homeless people. That was the best feeling of my life.

Child Labor

I feel that kids shouldn’t have to work because then they wouldn’t have very much of an education. The part about them being just a couple minutes late and not getting paid for that hour doesn’t make sense to me because they should pay them if they are doing work period. The story about the kids being locked up in that high building is just cruel because they have to work for their families. Why would you work to get money for your family if you can’t give it to them if you die. I could barley listen to the kids from the other story  because their stories were so sad and made me thankful for what I have.
